Is your handshake a “dead fish”?

So, you have graduated from college and are going on your first professional interview.

What does your handshake represent? Do you have a dead fish? From the time I was a little girl, my grandfather always impressed upon me the importance of a firm handshake. He would stick out his hand and make me shake his hand. If my hand was limp, he would say, “That is a dead fish!”

He taught me that a firm handshake represents confidence and strength. A handshake is often the first form of communication we have with a potential employer. Ask yourself, “Do I have a dead fish?”

If you do, find a pal and practice!
